Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is a condition that causes pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint. It occurs when the connective tissue that surrounds the shoulder joint becomes thick and tight, making it difficult to move the arm.
The main symptom of frozen shoulder is pain and stiffness in the shoulder joint. The pain may be dull and aching and may worsen at night, making it difficult to sleep. As the condition progresses, the shoulder joint may become so stiff that it is difficult to move the arm
The exact cause of frozen shoulder is not known, but it is believed to be related to injury or trauma to the shoulder, prolonged immobility of the shoulder, or certain medical conditions such as diabetes or thyroid disorders. It is more common in people over the age of 40 and those with a history of shoulder injuries.
