Cervical spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis, also known as cervical osteoarthritis, is a condition that affects the neck region of the spine. It is a degenerative condition that results from wear and tear of the cervical spine over time, and is most commonly seen in older adults.

Symptoms:

The main symptoms of cervical spondylosis include neck pain and stiffness, as well as tingling or numbness in the arms and hands. In some cases, weakness in the arms and hands may also be present. Symptoms may worsen with activities that involve bending or twisting the neck, or with prolonged periods of sitting or standing

Causes:

The primary cause of cervical spondylosis is aging, as the discs in the cervical spine lose their flexibility and may begin to dry out, causing them to shrink and become less effective at cushioning the vertebrae. This can lead to the development of bone spurs and other changes in the structure of the cervical spine. Other factors that can contribute to the development of cervical spondylosis include injury or trauma to the neck, prolonged poor posture, and repetitive strain on the neck muscles.
